What is boric acid? It's about $3.00 a bottle. It's a pure white powder.

Doctor's use it to treat fungal infections on humans by mixing it with water and applying it to skin. But it's usually sold in plastic bottles at chain stores with a spout on them. Usually labled 'roach kill' or something like that. It's usually 100% pure boric acid (read the label.) Roaches will never eat this stuff. NEVER.
So... You trick them. Get some goggles, gloves, respirator, whatever you think you might need. I did it with bare hands and suffered no ill side effects. Anyway. 1 cup of boric acid, 1 cup of shortening (not liquid oil), 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of sugar.
Mix it all up to make dough balls. Pinch them off into little balls and stick them in cracks, on top of cabinets, under the fridge, behind the oven, etc.
DO NOT LET CHILDREN EAT THESE.
Anyway... Roaches will seem to come out and have a party. They will dance and sing, and munch on the little dough balls... Then they go home to their nests, and they die, and other roaches eat them, and they die, and before you know it... No more bugs, ever.
My friend had a situation similiar to yours, I could not sit down at his house without bugs walking across my shoe or crawling across my arm. Now he's been bug free for 3 years.

Cockroaches thrive in warm, humid, wet, dark spaces and are found in nature to exist in mostly tropical and subtropical regions. Despite their reputation, only a few species of cockroach are known pests, choosing to live in domestic areas instead of their natural environment. Cockroaches survive on a combination diet of plant and animal matter, including paper, clothing, food, wood, books, bedbugs and other small insects.
